Born 31st January 1951 Yorkshire, England, first professional engagement 13 years old Pheasant Inn Sheffield.
Formed Duo with lifelong friend to be Paul Slater 1964 called Tateville Trackers, numerous club bands followed, Infinite Promenade, Rainbow,Gatsby,
1967 split with Paul but remained best friends to this day.Paul went on to be successful in his own right as a solo artiste and is still performing now.
1968 Steve concentrated on writing, sending off songs to record companies, recieveing letters expressing intrest from Polydor, Island, and Apple.
1972 Back on the road as a solo, signed contract with Dukeries A gency, toured clubs all over England. 1973. december 23rd Steve's son Daniel was born.
Teamed up with Mick Armitage to write Concrete World the album, and other projects.
1980 Flew to America for the first time, bought my first Ovation guitar in Mannys music store, Times Square, New York city.
Took job as Assistant Stage manager at Fiesta club Sheffield, worked along side Marti Caine who was then the resident compare at that time,
working as sound engineer and lighting director, at the Fiesta Steve was fortunate to work with the likes of Three Degrees, The Nolans, Cilla Black,
The Fortunes, Sweet, Marmalade, and many others.
1982 Met fellow singer Sheila Arnold and formed Nickle and Dime, tour uk caberet rooms.Toured South Wales supporting Bernard Manning
1983 Flew back to America with Sheila on holiday looking for possible work, met a few contacts . Wrote Yorkshire Born And Bred.
1984 Went back to Miami, to Audition for the Outrigger lounge, Sunny Isles, North Miami beach, passed audition signed contract for the follwing May.
1985 / 86 / 87 Resident in Outrigger lounge. Also played Hollywood and Hallendale beach, Miami, and did guest broadcast on Kiss fm florida.
met and performed with Eddie Fisher, Rue Paul, Janis Ian.
Late 1987 arrested by United States Immigration.
1989 to 99 back in UK touring clubs and caberet.
2000 Nickle and Dime split due to personal differences.
2001 Steve toured as a solo, Hotels, Caberets, and Clubs.
2002 Appeared on ITV 's Peak Practice along side Ian Herthrington.
2003 Appeared on Living room legends with Lyndsey de Paul, and won the show with his own composition Mother Nature's Sure Been Busy.
Flew to Spain, started work singing in Benidorm at The Presidente Hotel, Star and Garter, Steptoes, Sinartra and many more.
2004 Sadly Sheila died Febuary 25th, flew back to England for her funeral, what a sad loss of a dear friend and a great talent.. March 29th met Carole Johnson, the love of Steve's life.
August flew back to England to be with Carole, started doing the old club circuit once again, touring the East coast.
Recorded the Album Amsterdam at Cloud studios, Blackpool, wrote You brought me home and I Loved being Young.
2005 Flew back to Spain with Carole, settled in Calpe, did various radio interviews, Smile fm, OCI and others, Amsterdam acclaimed as a first class
album by Carole Levey editor of Out and About magazine, also from Vince the Prince, Doc Martin and Pauline McGough, all first class radio presenters.
2006 /07/08/09 still playing live gigs and still writing songs.
2010 retuturned to the UK to settle in Blackpool, 2011 Hoping to play all major hotels in Blackpool and still writing songs.April 2011 awarded Europres No1
